AI development company in India
Webonika is an applied AI studio in Pune. We design, build and support AI for businesses across India, with a focus on workflows that pay back quickly.
What we build
We build practical AI systems on Google Cloud, designed around one business workflow at a time:
- Computer vision for quality inspection, counting and safety.
- Document AI, OCR and IDP for invoices, forms, lab reports and KYC.
- Generative AI assistants grounded in your own documents.
- Voice AI agents that call and answer in Indian languages.
- Business process automation across your existing tools.
- Custom software and BI dashboards.
Who we work with
Our clients are small and mid-sized businesses and growing teams inside larger ones. They usually have a clear operational problem, such as slow invoice entry, inconsistent inspection or too many unanswered leads, and no in-house AI team. You do not need to know which model or tool you want. You need to know which process hurts.
How we work across India
Most of the work happens remotely. A typical project runs like this:
- Discovery. A short session to find the one high-value workflow. This can be a video call or a visit to your site.
- Prototype. A working version on a sample of your real data, so you see accuracy and effort saved before a full build.
- Production. We ship the system, integrate it with your tools and train your team.
- Improve. Monitoring, retraining and support under an annual maintenance contract (AMC).
When the work involves a factory line, a warehouse or a clinic, we visit in person to see the process, place cameras and test in real conditions. The rest, including reviews and demos, is done on video and shared screens, so your location does not limit the project. For businesses around our home city, see AI company in Pune.
Why build AI in India
Cost
Engineering and cloud costs allow a proper prototype before you commit to a large budget. That makes it realistic for an SME to try AI on one workflow first. See how we price.
Indian-language context
Customers write in Hinglish, speak in Marathi, Tamil or Gujarati, and send photos of handwritten notes. Systems built with this in mind, and tested on real Indian voices and documents, behave better than generic tools trained mostly on English.
GST, Tally and WhatsApp
Indian businesses run on GST invoices, Tally or Zoho books, UPI payments and WhatsApp conversations. We build integrations for these from the start, for example reading purchase invoices for GST reconciliation or replying to leads on WhatsApp Business. On data protection, we design with the DPDP Act in mind; confirm your specific obligations with your adviser.
What a first project looks like
A first project is deliberately small. For example, a distributor drowning in supplier invoices might start with document AI on one invoice type. A manufacturer might begin with a single camera on one inspection point. A clinic might start with an assistant that answers appointment calls. Each is a few weeks of work with a clear before-and-after measure.
Once that works, you extend it to more document types, lines or branches. This staged approach keeps risk low and lets your team build confidence. It also gives you real numbers, such as hours saved or errors avoided, to justify the next step.
Along the way we explain trade-offs in plain words: what the system does well, where it needs a human check, and what it will cost to run each month once it is live.
Whatever the size of the first project, we document what we build and train your people to use it. You keep a clear record of how the system works, which data it reads and who to call when something changes.
Industries we serve
We work most often in manufacturing, retail, logistics, healthcare, education, fitness and finance. See all industries.
Our own products
We also ship our own AI products, which show how we build:
- Webonika Fitness, a white-label AI fitness app that gyms publish under their own brand.
- Kepton, an on-device Android app that drafts replies in your own voice, live on Google Play.
- Webonika for Schools, an AI layer for coaching institutes and schools, in development.
A note on timelines and team
A typical engagement runs for a few weeks to a few months, depending on how many systems we connect to. You will not need to hire engineers or data scientists. We ask for a process owner who can answer questions within a day, access to sample data, and a few people willing to test early versions. Handover includes documentation and training, so your staff are comfortable with the system on day one.
We are straightforward about fit. If a ready product will serve you better than a custom build, we will say so, because a good outcome for you matters more than a bigger project for us.

Frequently asked questions
Can you work with companies outside Pune?
Yes. Most projects are run remotely with video reviews, and we visit your site when the work needs it, such as a factory line or a warehouse.
Do you build AI that works in Hindi and other Indian languages?
Yes. Voice and text systems can be built and tested in Hindi, Marathi, English and other Indian languages. Accuracy depends on the language and audio quality, so we test on your real samples.
How much does AI development cost in India?
It depends on scope, data and integrations. We start with a fixed-price prototype so you see results before a larger commitment. See our pricing page for how we structure it.
Do I need my own data science team?
No. We handle design, building, deployment and maintenance. You provide a process owner and access to sample data.
Do you offer support after launch?
Yes. We offer an annual maintenance contract covering monitoring, retraining and fixes.
Have a process worth automating?
Tell us the one task eating your team's time, and we'll show you what AI does with it. We reply within one working day.
